21st century Job Search Strategies

There are many different strategies being adopted by jobseekers today, as they scour the job market for their perfect role. The invention of the Internet has dramatically affected the way we do most things in life, and for jobseekers this is especially true.

With dedicated websites like Jobinaclick displaying hundreds and thousands of jobs online, and being updated every day with new jobs, finding a new job is now just a click of a mouse button away.

It didn’t used to be so simple. Back in the days before the Internet (if you remember!), things were very different. If you wanted a job, you’d have to make individual visits to all the employers you were interested in working for, and try to persuade recruiters that you were the best person for their job. It could be a long process!

If you go back even further, the best way to find work was to be creative and show off what you specialised in. In the 19th century jobseekers would take a sign of their trade along to the local job fair – so, a chef might take a wooden spoon, a cleaner would take a mop or broom, and a shoemaker could bring along his finest work to demonstrate for potential employers.

All of this is seems a long way from where we are now. Login to Jobinaclick and you can apply for job after job, all from the comfort of your own home! With special custom Job alerts and a twice weekly newsletter to your inbox, you’re spoiled for choice! Just use that extra time wisely – so instead of learning how to make shoes, get a really solid CV together. You can still stand out in the 21st century!
