What People Really Want From A Job

Ask 10 people what thing about their job makes them most happy, and you’ll probably get 10 different answers. Ask them what motivates them and you will probably get another 10 different answers. Every single person is different, which is why there are millions of different jobs out there with different salaries, different working hours and different skill levels required to do them.

It is for this exact reason that multi-industry job boards, such as Jobinaclick, are so popular (and successful). These sites cater for every kind of individual – from the part time mums to the high flying city bankers. Of course a very lucky and privileged few have no need to work, but for the rest of us it’s something we have to do to live well, to survive. But surely there’s more to life than just survival! What else drives us in the workplace?

In a recent survey (http://www.jobsite.co.uk/articles/candidate/c170/s192/a320.html) it was found that the biggest factor affecting job satisfaction was money (21% of votes). Perhaps not surprising, but you may be interested to know that the working environment (20%), level of challenge (18%), type of work colleagues (12%) and even fun (6%) were all also judged to have a significant impact on our working happiness.

If these results tell us anything, it must be that websites like Jobinaclick have a huge role to play in the future of the jobs market. With the research proving that people are motivated by so many different things, it’s good to know that there are places online that can help everyone!
